Calligraphy Practice
Another common sight in the public parks in China is people practicing calligraphy. The brush handles are often tubes they fill with water, which seeps through to soak the brush. The water then becomes the “ink” with which they practice. They typically practice in shady areas so their work doesn’t evaporate as quickly as it would in the sun. It’s kind of like sidewalk chalk art only with water instead of chalk.
