Acrobatics Show and KTV
I’m a frequent patron of live performances, so when I heard a rumor that Shanghai had the best acrobatics show in the world I had to check it out. I’m also a big critic and had not been impressed with the Kungfu show I saw in Beijing in January, so I was hoping the acrobats would change my perspective of Chinese performing arts. I was not disappointed. It was a great show! I would recommend it to anyone visiting Shanghai. The show consisted of a seamless flow of acrobatic performances in which people do things that people shouldn’t be able to do. The integration of professional multimedia special effects made the performance even more spectacular.
No trip to China would be complete without at least one KTV (karaoke) experience, and Shanghai was a great place to do it. After the acrobatics show, Yijia and I met up with Boqian and Xuhao to get our KTV on. We went to what seemed to me a very swanky karaoke establishment. I love these places! Rather than a karaoke bar where people sign up to sing in front of a crowd of strangers, you can rent a karaoke room with your friends and sing the night away. They have a great selection of Chinese and English music, and you can order food and drinks right to your room. What a concept! Our two hours of karaoke flew by!
